With the start of the school year less than one month away, parents and students can take steps to get ready before the first bell rings.
Executive Director of Austin Partners in Education Cathy Jones has some advice to make this school year a success for your students.
"I think as parents get ready for the new school year, one important thing is to get back on their regular schedule and making sure they get lots of rest,” she said. “Start talking to them about the new school year, maybe setting some goals with them.”
With the Internet at our fingertips, you can easily search for study plans or information about your child's new school.
"It's a great opportunity for parents to become involved in their child's school,” Jones said. “There's all kind of opportunities to get involved, chaperoning on a field trip, helping out in the classroom.”
Austin Partners in Education is a nonprofit that brings tutors to the classroom involving volunteers.
