Poinsettias are a popular plant to have around the house during holiday season, but they can be dangerous too.
Merrideth Jiles with the Great Outdoors Garden Center wants Central Texans to know that while the plant may be beautiful, it is poisonous and can pose a hazard for pets and children. Even for adults, the plant can cause certain problems.
“Even if you just break the leaf, the milky sap that comes out, it can be very irritating to your eyes, nose or even your skin,” he said.
