Water bowls have come a long way from traditional stainless steel. While stainless is still a practical, safe and classic choice there are now lots of options that are stylish as well as functional.

To update your pet’s existing metal bowls, try an adjustable high-rise stand in wood and metal. It can make their eating and drinking more enjoyable by helping with digestion, as well as ease neck and shoulder pain.

If your canine companion is a messy eater, you may be interested in the “Neater Feeder” mess-proof bowl stand, with a high back to help prevent spills from ending up on your floor.

Eco Bowls are made from environmentally-friendly bamboo and rice husks and come in a variety of sizes and natural colors for the eco-conscious pet parent. Retail price for the Eco Bowls ranges from $3 to $10.

There is a wide range of pet water fountains available at your local pet supply store. The “Pet Mate” fountain even sterilizes water as it passes under a UV light. Fountains are a great way to help your pets, especially cats, get the water they need.

Cats love the movement and sound of running water, and most prefer fountains once they get used to them.

Remember to never leave a stainless steel bowl outside in the winter. When your pet takes a drink because their tongue can stick to the metal.
