It’s normal to gain a couple of pounds during the holiday season, but a new study should have candy lovers rejoicing.
The European Heart Journal recently published a new study which found that people who ate small portions of chocolate each day were 40 percent less likely to have a heart attack or stroke.
Other candies have benefits as well. A study out of Louisiana State University showed people who occasionally eat candy of any type have slimmer wastes and a lower body mass index.
Research from the University of School of Medicine in Athens found that people who ate four low-calorie desserts per week lost more weight that those who ate only one.
Dark chocolate has also been shown to lower LDL cholesterol, fight cancer, reduce tooth decay and act as a natural antidepressant.
