The time of Robin Hood and his merry men has come and gone, but you certainly wouldn’t be able to tell at the Sherwood Forest Faire this weekend.

The renaissance festival is now in its fourth year and offers theater productions, sword fights, jousting and plenty of food and drinks.

About 20 characters act out a day-long storyline which involves Robin Hood battling the forces of evil. Characters include the King of England, Mare Marian and Friar Tuck.

Most of the actors have worked with the festival since its inception and have developed a strong bond.

"We all are very good friends here. We have our individual lives Monday through Friday, but the one common thread that binds us together is our love for history and our love for acting,” Robin Hood said.

The faire is open on weekends through the end of March. Tickets are $18 for adults and $10 for kids.
