The Austin Humane Society is the largest no-kill, nonprofit pet adoption center in Austin. In order to raise money for the organization, they’re holding a raffle, where they’ll be giving away a 2010 Mazda Miata.
“This fundraiser accounts for about $100,000 for the animals, and that is so important. We serve approximately 8,000 animals through our shelter every year. That’s providing 3,000 homes to dogs and cats and then also 5,000 spay or neuter surgeries. So, we are very, very dependent on fundraisers,” Spokesperson for the Austin Humane Society Lisa Starr said.
Each raffle ticket costs $20 or you can buy three tickets for $50. There are only 5,000 tickets for sale. The drawing is on Saturday.
“The car was generously donated and we can’t wait to call up the winner. We do still have tickets available, so we want folks to hurry up, buy them,” Starr said.
