The “Bobcat for a Day” program is designed to give high school juniors a taste of what life is like for Texas State students.
Wednesday, Texas State students volunteered to host more than 100 visitors, answer their questions and take them to classes.
"[It’s] just to help them see how college life is and why they should get a higher education and why going to college is important," Texas State student Danielle Faurie said.
After their day as a Bobcat, some of the participants said they could see themselves attending the school in the future.
"I got to see a lot of the campus, stuff that I didn't know before, got to get some new experiences, see what classes were really like," high school student Phillip Barrios said.
