Austin police have released the identities of two suspects and one officer involved in a shooting incident early Saturday morning.
Officers say 46-year-old Miguel Macias and 20-year-old Austin James Hanlon are in custody, charged with burglary of a building. Macias is also charged with aggravated assault on a public servant with a deadly weapon, a first-degree felony.
Officers say the two men were attempting to burglarize Johnson Supply near MoPac and Highway 183 just after midnight Saturday.
When police arrived, the two men fled to a car and rammed an officer's car, pinning it against a tree while the officer was trying to get out. That's when police say the officer open fired, wounding the driver.
That officer has been identified as Sr. Officer Shane Cunningham, who has been with the force since 2002. He is currently on administrative leave, which is standard procedure in all officer-involved shootings.
Macias' bond is set at $250,000. Hanlon's is set at $20,000. This is the seventh officer-involved shooting of 2013.
