You don’t have to be a lifelong Austinite to realize that things are changing around the Capital City—but is it a good thing?
Austin Business Journal Editor Colin Pope said he counted 97 ways Austin is currently transforming, including more than a dozen new skyscrapers, the new Waller Creek river walk and more annual events.
But when Pope asked ABJ readers if they thought downtown would be a better place in 10 years, 60 percent said ‘yes.' Still, 40 percent of readers thought Austin was changing for the worse.
