After 32 years as the University of Texas’ athletic director, Deloss Dodds will announce his retirement Tuesday afternoon, according to the Austin American-Stateman’s Kirk Bohls.
Bohls reported that 76-year-old Dodds will announce that he will stay on as athletic director through the end of August next year and will continue to work as a consultant for another year.
Earlier this month, Dodds denied rumors which alleged he was planning to retire, saying "I love my job, I love the people I work with, and I love The University of Texas. I have no immediate plans to retire.”
In August, Dodds will receive a $1 million annuity, according to Bohls.
