YNN’s Bonnie Gonzalez was at KGSR’s live ACL broadcast at Threadgill’s Friday morning where she got a sneak peek of Grace London, set to perform today at the fest.
It’s back—the Austin City Limits Music Festival has arrived.
Thousands of music fans will flock to The Great Lawn at Zilker Park to jam out to dozens of bands through Sunday.
This year is the first time the fest will spread over two weekends, which means double the revenue for the city. Last year, ACL generated more than $102 million during one weekend.
City leaders want to ensure guests and the community is safe over the next several days.
There is an on-site Event Command Center for both weekends with fire department and EMS personnel at the park. Nighttime lighting will also be increased along the Lady Bird Hike and Bike Trail.
Austin Police will be out ticketing and towing vehicles parked in the right of way on MoPac and frontage roads. Also, city crews will be cleaning sidewalks and on standby for repairs.
The Austin City Limits Festival traditionally sells out pretty quickly, but right now, the second weekend is not sold out. There are hundreds of ticket holders who are selling their tickets online.
The 3-day passes sell for $225, but, you can spot some selling for $150 or less on Craigslist. To purchase tickets directly from the festival, go to the ACL Festival website or buy them at the box office located on Barton Springs Road.
Friday’s lineup includes Muse, Depeche Mode, Jimmy Eat World and Arctic Monkeys. Click here for the full lineup.
