Update-- The flood warning for Bastrop County has been cancelled.
The National Weather Service now predicts the Colorado River will still rise around noon Monday, but not enough to be considered a flood.
Earlier-- The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for Bastrop County for Monday.
The NWS warning begins at 12:31 p.m. Monday and is scheduled to expire just before 2 a.m. the next day.
Through its official Facebook page, Bastrop County’s Office of Emergency Management has warned county residents who live along the Colorado River that flooding is a possibility Monday.
OEM managers specifically warned residents in western Bastrop County and the Lazy River Acres subdivision to prepare for possible overnight flooding.
Emergency crews closed Upper Elgin River Road at Wilbarger Creek Sunday afternoon because of high water.
