Austin city parks officials have closed all trails and golf courses until further notice due to conditions caused by torrential rains late Saturday night and early Sunday morning.
According to information by the city, the rain created safety concerns. The parks have been closed as a precaution. Mud, downed tree limbs and erosion have been reported at area trails.
Emergency officials are also warning residents that watercraft are now banned on Barton Creek until noon Monday. Rain has made conditions very dangerous.
An earlier version of this story had information from an early city announcement that parks are also closed. A city official called and corrected the information, saying parks are open.
