The boating ban for the waters of Barton Creek has been extended until Wednesday at noon.
The Austin Fire Department has determined the creek is still too dangerous for use. Its normally calm waters were transformed by the weekend rains into something closer to a raging river.
All of Austin’s hike-and-bike trails are closed as well and will stay closed until further notice.
An incoming coldfront is expected to bring even more rain. There is a 70 percent chance of rain for Wednesday and the high temperature is expected to be in the 50s.
