Austin police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in the headwaters of Onion Creek in South Austin.
Police said a homeowner spotted the body around 6 p.m. in the 300-block of Heartwood drive at the edge of a creek that eventually becomes Onion Creek as it winds its way south.
The scene is about half way between South First Street and South Congress Avenue, south of West St. Elmo Road.
Police said it appears the body had been submerged in flood waters in the creek and became visible as the water receded.
Police have not made any identification of the man other than to say he appears to have been in his mid-40s.
