News 8 Sports has learned that Texas catcher Cameron Rupp has agreed to terms with the Philadelphia Phillies.
Rupp was a third round selection in this year's Major League Baseball draft. He just completed his junior season with the Longhorns. Rupp hit .304 this season with ten home runs.
Rupp will report to rookie league ball this week in Pennsylvania. He's the second Longhorn baseball player this week to announce he is leaving school early. Outfielder Connor Rowe agreed to terms with the Washington Nationals.
