When the 2012 high school football season gets underway later this month, three new Central Texas varsity programs will hit the field: Cedar Ridge, Cedar Creek and East View in Georgetown.

East View opened opened its doors last fall, at which time the school fielded a pair of freshman teams and a JV team that went 7-2-1.

Head coach Robert Davies says he's been impressed with his team's attitude, which is something it'll need to maintain as it navigates its first varsity season in a tough district.

The Patriots have no seniors and will compete in District 17-4A. Their first game is against Lanier on August 31.
