Two-years ago, Spencer Drango was at Cedar Park, throwing his weight around for the Timberwolves. This season, the 6'6", 310 lbs redshirt freshman will get his first real taste of the college game.

"I'm pretty excited just to have the opportunity to play in the Big 12. You kind of grow up wanting to be a college football player, and when you finally get the opportunity, it's amazing," said Drango.

And he won't just play every once in-a-while. Drango is expected to protect Nick Florence's blindside as the starting left tackle.

"There's also a little pressure with it, but there's pressure anywhere on the line, especially starting in the Big 12, the conference that it is. I do feel it's a great honor to be starting so young," Drango said.

From just down the street as Drango hails running back Glasco Martin, who went to Stony Point. He says there's some camaraderie between the guys who grew up near each other.

"I do like Spencer. And then we have a couple other guys. Chris Winkler, he's from Temple. But all the Central Texas guys I really relate to," Martin said.

Martin is third on the Baylor depth chart, but he's still expected to get a good amount of touches.

"I expect to play the downhill back. To come in and get third down conversions, and get the tough dirty yards. All the running backs are pretty explosive, so I'll come in and bring that downhill factor," said Martin.
