Texas Volleyball sophomore All-America outside hitter Haley Eckerman (Waterloo, Iowa) has been named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week. She led the Longhorns with 14 kills and hit .345 (14-4-29) while adding two assists, two service aces, five digs and one block for a team-high 16.5 points in a 3-0 sweep of Oklahoma on Saturday. The sophomore had seven kills in the first set, hitting .455. For the year, she is ranked first in the Conference in kills (4.50) and points (5.29), while ranking second in service aces (0.45).

This is Eckerman’s eighth Big 12 weekly honor. As a freshman in 2011, she totaled five Rookie of the Week accolades and was a two-time Offensive Player of the Week. This is her third career Offensive distinction, and her eight honors are fourth all-time on the Big 12 career weekly awards list.

Texas continues Big 12 play tomorrow at Baylor in a 7 p.m. match.
