For Texas fans suffering through a combined 0-12 start to Big 12 play for the men's and women's basketball teams, and a somewhat subpar 9-4 football season, I do my best to offer you some good news for the weekend. Augie Garrido and the Texas baseball team opened up practice on Friday.
Of course the Horns don't come into this season with the typical lofty expectations. Last year Texas went just 30-22, and missed the NCAA tournament for the first time since 1998. Gone is longtime assistant Tommy Harmon, replaced by former Horn Tommy Nicholson. Presumed ace Parker French is back from an elbow injury.
