One of the first things people tend to notice about Samaje is his last name and its tricky pronunciation.
But, it won't be long before everyone knows exactly how to say Samaje Perine (pronounced pee-ron) correctly.
The Hendrickson running back is already a household name around Central Texas. After rushing for a just under 2,000 yards as a junior, he committed to the Oklahoma Sooners in March and has only continued to improve and impress since then.
He’s already racked up 400 yards in the first three games of 2013, not a bad start to his senior season.
Even with all those yards and touch downs, Perine stays humble. Like any high school starter with that kind of success, he's confident, but quick to share credit with his team. And, he said, his ideal senior season would be a group effort.
He's considered one of the top running back recruits in his 2014 class. Before deciding to be a Sooner, Perine also had offers from Alabama, TCU and Arkansas.
