Meghan Houston made quite a splash before ever beginning her career at the University of Texas this fall.

Over the summer, she won three U.S. Diving National Championships—her third U.S. Junior Championship and U.S. Senior Titles in one-meter individual and three-meter synchronized diving.

"When her name is called, lights are on, she likes that moment,” Matt Scoggin, Longhorn diving coach, said. “Some people, it’s scary—not for her."

While Scoggin's technically her new coach, he's also her first coach.

"He taught me my first front jump,” Houston said.

Houston was 10 at the time, just making the transition from gymnastics.

"Mom wasn't comfortable with how unsafe it was getting," she said.

The gymnastics skills led to quick success on the diving board.

"It was a lot easier for me to figure out flipping and twisting situation," the nationally-recognized diver said.

She did it all competing for Longhorn Aquatics and attending Scoggin's summer camps which ultimately made the decision to attend the University of Texas an easy one.

Houston will compete in her first college meet later this month.
