Texas State had their best game of the season over the weekend. The Bobcats got out to a 28-10 lead over Stephen F. Austin and survived a late surge to win 35-26.
Quarterback Shaun Rutherford had a breakout game. His four touchdown passes were the first four of the season for the Cats. Rutherford ran for another score on the way to being named the Southland Conference quarterback of the week.
