Merriam-Webster's defines revival as, "renewed attention to or interest in something."

Given that the UT Men's Basketball program wasn't losing in bunches and failing to make the
Tournament before T.J. Ford's arrival on campus, it doesn't seem entirely accurate to call his
commitment to Rick Barnes the thing that revived Longhorn hoops, but it didn't hurt much of anything.

Ford, who was back in town for a March of Dimes event on Thursday, brought a contagious, fast-paced excitement to the Forty Acres in 2001.

By the time he left in 2003, he was a National Player of the Year and burnt orange was a color known by big-time basketball recruits nationwide.

Every year now, five-star standouts flock to Texas and the Horns occupy a spot in the national spotlight.

And that, says Ford, is exactly what he envisioned when he committed to UT almost ten years ago.
