Two Texas Volleyball players earn Big 12 Player of the Week honors

Junior outside hitter Bailey Webster was named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week while freshman Molly McCage was named Big 12 Rookie of the Week for matches played Oct. 29-Nov. 4. This marks the first Player of the Week honor for both players.

Webster had 28 kills (4.67 kps) while hitting .448 with five digs (0.83 dps), six blocks (1.00 bps) and 32.5 points (5.42 pps) in two 3-0 Texas sweeps last week, including at TCU and at home against No. 16 Kansas State. She had only two errors on 58 swings. The junior hit .577 at TCU with 15 kills, no errors and 26 attempts with two digs and one block. Against Kansas State, she hit .344 on 13 kills with three digs and five blocks (three solo, two assisted). Webster ranks third in Big 12 matches in hitting percentage (.368), kills (3.90) and points (4.42). The Longhorns improved to 12-0 in league play and extended their home conference win streak to 38 matches.

McCage had 20 kills (3.33 kps) while hitting .643 with three digs (0.50 dps), five blocks (0.83 bps) and 22.5 points (3.75 pps). She set a season-high on Wednesday with 10 kills at TCU while hitting .833 (10-0-12) with one block. She tied her season-best again with 10 kills against Kansas State while hitting .500 with four blocks.
