More animals could face euthanization due to city shelter overflow

Due to immense overcrowding, the Austin Animal Center will be forced to euthanize more animals and jeopardize the city’s no-kill status. Tuesday, both the Austin Humane Society and Austin Pets Alive! scrambled to take in more animals from the shelter to free up room at the East Austin facility.

Second Barrington teacher in child porn investigation resigns

A sixth-grade teacher at Barrington Elementary School has resigned following an investigation into child pornography. AISD officials announced Monday the teacher was the subject of a federal investigation. He resigned later that day. Last week, Austin police charged another teacher at Barrington with possession of child pornography.

Second Barrington Elementary teacher faces child porn investigation

A second teacher at Barrington Elementary is under investigation for child pornography, but this time, it's a federal investigation. Monday, AISD police said a sixth grade math teacher is now on administrative leave. Just last week, Austin police arrested a Barrington Elementary fourth grade teacher for child pornography. District officials say the two cases are unrelated.
