A Pflugerville Marine was finally laid to rest Sunday.

Marine Sergeant Byron Norwood, 25, was killed in action in Fallujah on Nov. 12.

Norwood's funeral service was held at Pflugerville High School. It was followed by a burial with military honors at Cook Walden Capital Parks Cemetery.

Norwood graduated from Pflugerville High School in 1998. He was on his second deployment in Iraq as a member of the Third Battalion, First Marine Regiment.
