Cathy Lynn Henderson, 49, is to be executed April 18.

The Pflugerville-area woman's death warrant was signed by an Austin judge. She was sentenced to death for the 1994 slaying of a boy she was babysitting.

The body of 3-month-old Brandon Baugh was found in a wine cooler carton, buried in a field outside Temple.

The discovery came nearly three weeks after Baugh was reported missing.

Henderson smashed the child's head with a blunt object while she was watching him and his older sister, prosecutors said.

Henderson was arrested in Independence, Mo.

She gave several stories before finally saying the boy fell from her arms while she was answering the phone and hit his head on the floor, the FBI said.

The severity of the injuries did not match that story, a medical examiner testified.
