Wal-Mart to hold talk-back with residents
Residents near a proposed Wal-Mart Supercenter at Northcross Mall have another chance to speak out on Monday night.
Store representatives will meet with people for and against the project.
After weeks of conflict over the store's location, the retailer is holding an open forum to address neighborhood concerns. Attendees will be able to view the changes made to the site plan, store design, proposed traffic improvements, store operations and any other information regarding the proposed store.
Wal-Mart agreed to close between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. and not allow RVs to park there overnight. It also agreed not to open a gas station or automotive shop on the site.
Wal-Mart agreed to implement some environmentally conscious practices, such as rainwater harvesting to water its produce. It will also create pedestrian and bicycle access and accommodate local restaurants in its plan.
Wal-Mart has received criticism for not communicating well with local residents.
The open house is being held at the Norris Conference Center at Northcross Mall on West Anderson Lane between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m.
