Flight attendant invents ultimate travel blanket
Pam Ball is a flight attendant working for a major airline now for 14 years. She saw a need as she dealt with travelers apprehensive about airline-issued blankets and pillows.
“The look when they ask for a pillow and blanket! They’re not quite sure where’s it’s been,” she said.
So Ball created the PamBee, an all-in-one blanket, a pillow and an eye mask. The carryon pouch is made of the same fabric as the items inside. It weighs just a little more than a pound.
The pillow blows up, and when you’re done, it deflates quickly and the three pieces fold up nicely into a pouch. The pillow is the size of a regular airline pillow and has an indention for your head. It also comes out of the case.

“You can take the inflatable pillow out. And then you can put the airline pillow inside there. It fits perfectly,” Ball said.
The blanket has a silky fabric on one side and a warm suede-like fabric on the other.
“It’s a micro-suede fabric. It’s washable and durable. It’s long enough to keep your toes cozy and it’s long enough for a pretty tall man.”
Right now, the PamBee comes in several prints and shades. Some style are more feminine, but the burgundy colored one and tan plaid one are big sellers for men.
Ball said she’s overwhelmed by the success of the PamBee.
“People have taken them to movies because you can put them in your purse. You know how you always get cold in the movies? So it’s always interesting to hear what people use it for.”
