THREE RIVERS, Texas -- Authorities said one inmate was killed and several others injured in a prison riot in south Texas Friday morning.

Dispatchers with the Live Oak County Sheriff's Office said that there was no word on injuries to guards.

San Antonio emergency responders are assisting authorities in the small rural county.

The riot marks the second in Texas in recent weeks. A riot involving 80 inmates at the federal facility in downtown Houston broke out earlier this month.
