Two more AISD schools rated unacceptable, for 11 total
The new Texas Education Agency accountability ratings were released Friday.
Ratings are based on student performance on state tests, drop out rates and high school completion rates.
In the Austin Independent School District, 15 schools received an exemplary rating compared to just seven last year.
On the other end of the scale, 11 AISD schools received an unacceptable rating, two more than last year.
Those schools include Johnston High School and Pearce Middle School.
Johnston was shut down this past spring and is being repurposed.
Pearce remains in danger of being closed if performance doesn't improve.
