Austin Independent School District board trustees Monday proposed some possible new names for Johnston High School.

Since the process was open to the public back in June, more than 600 people submitted suggestions.

Those that were mentioned the most include: Cesar Chavez, Eastside and Memorial or Veterans Memorial High School.

The Texas Education Agency closed the school because students failed to meet minimum scores on standardized tests.

The school board is expected to make a final decision on a name at its regular meeting next Monday.
