Outside the Gym: Mix up your workout with a kettlebell
Ryan Nail is the owner of Core Fit Training here in Austin.
He said a great tool for fitness is a kettlebell. A kettlebell is a weight that looks like a cannonball with a handle.
When using the weight, it’s important to maintain proper form.
“In any kettlebell move that you do, make sure your shoulder blades are back the whole way so you can protect your back,” Nail said.

Squatting and tossing the kettlebell is a good exercise to try, but technique is crucial.
“What’s great about this is you have to use balance and stability because you’re not just pressing a solid weight, you’re using the momentum, catching it, pressing it to the top,” he said.
Nail said a kettlebell workout is challenging but enjoyable.
“This is a fun exercise,” he said. “It’s hard, but it will definitely change up your routine.”
