Pearce Middle School is the recipient of a $50,000 grant for an educational nutrition program.

The money will be used to create a food garden that will integrate a math and science curriculum.

The grant will also pay for a parental involvement program.

The grant is from the Texas Education Agency and will continue through the summer of 2010.
