Search continues for missing Georgetown woman
Hundreds of volunteers gathered outside of Georgetown where 19-year-old Rachel Cooke was last seen jogging on Thursday. The neighborhood began an extensive search to help find the girl.
"There's a lot of underbrush here and rocky conditions, so it's going to be a hard walk," said Carol Nielson, a member of the search team. "We are going to go inch by inch to get this straightened out."
The volunteers set up a makeshift search center where Willamson County Sheriiff John Maspero instructs people on what to look for.
Beverley Emron, who knows Rachel's mother, hopes their efforts pay off. "We're looking for the slightest little thing," she said. "Like the police said, anything. She was jogging with gray pants and a green top ... this radio she wore."
Sheriff deputies said no clues turned up during Saturday's search.
"You go from a circle where she was last seen," said Sgt. Mike Lummus of the sheriff's office. "Each day you widen that and get broader and broader."
Georgetown High School girls softball team joined in on the search. Lacey Ledbetter cannot believe what is happening. "It makes you think twice," she said. "Georgetown is suppose to be a safe community. Anything can happen."
Vivien Morrow, a coworker with Rachel at a local restaurant, remembers talking to her on Wednesday about going back to California for college. She makes her own plea to the community.
"Please share it [tips] to help find her," said Morrow. "We want what's best for the family, and Rachel."
