Laura Hall won't get a new trial, but she will get a new sentencing trial.
The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals declined Wednesday to look into Hall's case again, but did grant a new sentencing trial, because the prosecution withheld information.
Hall was convicted of tampering with evidence and hindering apprehension in the 2005 murder of Jennifer Cave in the West Campus area of the University of Texas.
She was sentenced to five years in prison but released after posting $150,000 bail.
Colton Pitonyak is serving a 55-year sentence for Cave's murder.
