The annual East Austin Studio Tour (E.A.S.T.) that begins this Saturday, will showcase 154 different art studios to the public.

Shea Little, with Big Medium, said that East Austin is a kind of bloodline of art in our community.

"It has been kind of an overlooked and underserved part of town," Shea said. "And since we started the tour, I think these people who've been there for a long time and the newcomers to the east side have all just embraced the idea of showcasing their work and their studios."

Shea said the first East Austin Studio Tour showcased 28 different studios.

"Every year we somehow get more and more people and artists involved," Little said.

There will be an official preview party for the studio tour Thursday night with six participating venues, each of which will be partnered with a local restaurant.

Along with the art, the night will feature a variety of beverages and chauffeured transportation to each art venue.
