Cap Metro moves forward with Sunset recommendations
In a recent review of Cap Metro's practices, the Sunset Advisory Commission found the agency's lack of adequate financial planning and high cost of services put it in long-term financial risk.
Tuesday, the commission accepted the final report. It also added recommendations for the agency to be more transparent in terms of online reporting and online information.
"It's so much more transparent at this point. But even more important is having a five-year spending plan that folks know the direction we're headed as an agency, which is something that hadn't been in place," Mike Martinez, Austin Mayor Pro Tem and Cap Metro board member, said.

Another recommendation was to maintain a comprehensive rail safety plan.
Cap Metro board members said they are implementing the recommendations.
