Starting Wednesday, smoking and tobacco products aren't allowed on Cap Metro Rail platforms.

In July, the transit agency's board approved a measure to crack down on smoking in transit areas, including its park and ride stops.

Starting next year, tobacco use will be banned in boarding zones too.
