Study validates Travis County drivers' frustration

Heavy traffic is the one common complaint people have about Austin. Now, a new study proves Travis County drivers experience some of the worst congestion in the state.

The Texas Department of Transportation ranked the top 100 congested roads in Texas, with the stretch of Interstate-35 between Highway 71 and U.S. Highway 183 coming in at number four.

The study estimates that traffic in this area causes an average of 3.88 million hours of delay each year.

A total of 11 Travis County roads made the list.

Two highways in Harris County and two in Dallas County round out the top five.
