Waco VA Med Center gets makeover
The Waco Veterans Affairs Medical Center is getting a makeover and shuffling around staff and programs in the process.
Renovations began last year when the facility added a rehab center.
The Waco Tribune-Herald reports new projects include the conversion of the main building to a medical tower. The building faces the Avenue of Flags and will house several clinics.
Last year, the hospital received $7.9 million in federal stimulus money for the improvements.
In addition to the rehab center, they've already installed energy-efficient windows, electrical system upgrades and a new heating and AC system.
