About 240 sample classes across Austin will be free.

People can head to any one of dozens of yoga studios to see what it’s all about.

"We want to just get yoga out everywhere,” Mary Esther Middleton, organizer of Free Day of Yoga, said. “We want people to experience what it is and how it can affect their lives, their health, their mental and emotional as well as physical well being and just realize the benefits of this form of practice."

Last year close to 4,000 people attended.

The Austin-born movement is catching on in other places too. Now surrounding cities like San Antonio, Dallas and Houston are hosting their own versions.
