While some are hoping to be physically fit for the New Year, others want to get their finances in shape.
Austin Financial Coach Jennifer Jaime recommends starting with a budget and watching spending habits on things like groceries, eating out and entertainment.
She also recommends setting money aside for unpredictable costs.
"There are car repairs. So, making sure you have enough set aside for inspections and tires and making sure you have enough in your budget so it doesn't all hit you at once,” Jaime said.
She also suggests setting money aside for things like stops at the coffee shop and clothing.
