Cinema Spotlight: 'Rango' wrangles up imaginative success

Imagination runs wild in "Rango," an oddball animated adventure set in the Old West town of Dirt.
Actor Johnny Depp plays the voice of a wannabe big shot lizard who fancies himself the new sheriff in town in his first feature animated role since "Corpse Bride."
One of the big differences is a production design with no holding back. "Rango" Director Gore Verbinski made a bold decision to not covert the film to a 3D version.
That would be a waste because this unique blend of characters and visuals prove that good 2D films stand on their own.
On my YNN scale, "Rango" earns three lone-stars out of four.
