A Texas State University student is dead after jumping out of a dormitory first-floor window around 2 a.m. Tuesday.
School officials say for some unknown reason, 24-year-old Eirin Ann Hicks and two other students jumped out of a window at Laurel Hall Dormitory. Hicks was taken to the hospital with head injuries where she later died.
Nineteen-year old Kristen McCreery was also taken to the hospital and is listed in fair condition. The third student, not injured in the jump, was not identified.
A spokesperson for the university says at the time of the incident police were in another area of the dorm because of a noise complaint.
