Classical guitar lovers will have to opportunity to explore the world of Latin America at the Mexican American Cultural Center this summer.
This weekend kicks off a three week concert series featuring the Austin Classical Guitar Society titled “Pasión!”
The series starts Saturday and will feature classical Cuban music and cuisine. Later in the summer, the sounds of Argentina and Mexico will also be presented.
Austin Classical Guitar Society members say they're excited to shine a spotlight on the culture.
"One of the most important things we can do as the Austin Classical Guitar society which, we are one of the leading organizations of its kind in the country, is to focus on the roots of the music we love so much, and to dig as deep as we can into significant cultural tradition," Matt Hinsley with the ACGS said.
