Billions of dollars are spent each year in health care costs and lost wages. Pain Specialists of Austin offer some tips for preventing pain from getting worse.
“There may not be a way to actually prevent pain, but you can definitely balance your life with a good exercise program, a good diet and just taking care of the way you carry things and lift things,” anesthesiologist and pain management specialist Dr. Vivek Mahendru said.
Dr. Mahendru says anytime pain persists three to six months or longer, it becomes more challenging to treat. You should visit your doctor sooner rather than later when it comes to pain.
