Hamilton Fire now 85 percent contained

The Hamilton Fire is now 85 percent contained, according to an official with the U.S. Forest Service.
Current estimates suggest the fire has burned about 150 acres, roughly 50 acres fewer than previously gauged.
No homes were threatened by the blaze, but the fire has destroyed between eight and nine structures from the set of the 2004 film “The Alamo,” which was filmed in the area.
“When the wind stopped early evening, that really made a big difference. If the wind continued to blow, we would have a larger fire,” Mike Ferris with the U.S. Forest Service said.
Milton Reimer’s Ranch Park was evacuated after fire spread to its property.
Hamilton Pool Park was closed temporarily, but has since reopened. Milton Reimer’s Ranch Park remains closed.
Fire officials have yet to determine a cause but have acknowledged that evening storms did bring lightning to the area.
