Children from all walks of life gathered Wednesday to help those in need.
More than 18,000 students have been running food and clothing drives at 33 Central Texas schools over the past two weeks. The effort culminated Wednesday with the Day of Service, hosted by nonprofit A Legacy of Giving.
The group aims to show kids that they can make a difference at any age.
"We are about growing a generation of givers,” Linda Brucker, Executive Director of A Legacy of Giving said. “We're about changing the conversation and empowering youth so that they all know they are all philanthropists and they can all be the giver."
The student’s goal was to collect 55,000 lbs of food and 2,500 coats.
